I don’t think I’ll ever be a natural when it comes to networking. I’ve attended numerous networking events in London in recent months. If you have an interest in all things web-related, then you could spend every evening at some tech event being held across London. Last night was an event which was both enjoyable and I’m sure productive for many who attended.

Opportunity knocks for West Ham

So there’s much anticipation around West Ham Football Club as they prepare to move into their new ground for next season. West Ham are one of the most nostalgic institutions in British football. The much talked about West Ham Academy is lauded as producing the most talented footballers in recent years (Julian Dicks??) and their claim to have won the World Cup in ’66 is trotted out every four years.

What’s the Spanish word for Schadenfruede?

Just spent an immensely satisfying 90 minutes watching Barcelona toil against Valencia at the Nou Camp. The home team were defeated 2-1 and the nine point lead over Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid has vanished. There can’t be a more arrogant club in the world than Barcelona (and I include Bayern Munich when making that claim).

Fun and games on ArsenalFan TV

I’ve been spending too much time recently watching ArsenalFan TV. It’s my guilty pleasure. A bit of indulgence of my part.

ArsenalFanTV is a website that was launched in 2012. The site specializes in filming videos of fans giving their post match reactions outside stadia minutes after the matches are completed. It’s clear to say that reasoned, considered opinion is thin on the ground. ArsenalFanTV is available through YouTube and you can follow the site through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Growing to love WordPress

As discussed before, I’ve greatly enjoyed the challenge of learning to code. The learning curve will forever be challenging and while the journey has not exactly taken over my life, it has consumed much of my time during the last year.

Going back to a year ago when I started my course at General Assembly, I focused on learning the basics of HTML5 and CSS3, before tackling JavaScript. It was really only after the course, that I started to discover all the tools and resources on the web which can make your life a whole lot easier for a budding web developer.
