I’ve been spoiled this week on the networking front. On the back of being looked after royally at a networking event organised by Outreach Digital, I had a really enjoy evening attending my first WordPress meet up hosted by the guys at WordPress London.
I had been pre-warned that this meetup was going to be highly technical and that proved to be the case. As someone relatively new to WordPress, it was a lot to take in. But there was plenty of humour around as well and the presentations were delivered in an informal manner. The Q&A sessions following the presentations demonstrated the great depth of knowledge and passion for WordPress amongst the attendees. It’s going to be great to become part of such an open and supportive community.
There was a pretty diverse crowd, from developers, marketers, bloggers and designers. As a newbie I was warmly welcomed and it was a great opportunity to share ideas and techniques with more experienced WordPress users. The beers and pizzas provided were very much welcome and the post-event trip to the pub finished off a really enjoyable and rewarding evening. The next event is on 26 May. I very much look forward to attending and further my knowledge of all things WordPress.
